You will need:
- 6.5 yards / 6.0 metres silk habotai/paj/ponge silk (4.5 -5 momme) if the fabric is 45″ (114cm)
wide, in main colour for project, or a combination of similar colours, that add up to this total yardage of silk. Outback Fibers is an excellent source for dyed silk.
Dyeing instructions will also be sent out to class participants for those wanting to dye their own
fabrics. - 9.0 ounces / 250 grams extra fine merino roving, 19 micron or less, in main colour for project– this will be close to your main silk colour
- 4.0 ounces/ 113 grams extra fine merino roving, 19 micron or less, in dark grey.
- 2.0 ounces/ 60 grams extra fine merino roving, 19 microns or less, in 2 additional colours that
complement/contrast with your main project colour. (4 ounces/ 120 grams total) - Measuring tape
- Pen/pencil
- Calculator
- Scissors, very sharp
- Drawing Book, notepad
- Ball Brause, or other tool for wetting out wool
- Sewing Needles
- Sewing thread in main project colour
Some items will be provided for your use during the workshop for a materials fee of $45.00, including 2.0 metres white silk habotai (5 momme), rings, tapes, inks, paints, brushes, markers, fabric stretchers, bubble wrap, resist material, water bucket, towels, tape, soap, grip mat, thin plastics, table risers and pipe for layout and rolling.
This fee will be payable before the start of the workshop.
