Exploring and creating new textures has always been a foundation to my work.  I see them as the language created in felt.  Each texture is used to add meaning and narrative. This makes the process of the making very rich and fulfilling. Most often I share the meanings behind these tactile metaphors, but sometimes they are there, just for my own knowing.  The depth of working in this way, embedding thought, emotion and story in my pieces, enriches my whole creative process, while also adding visual interest through dynamic texture for the viewer.
